Any of you have taller gym buddies and do similar workouts?

I ask this because being a smaller guy myself, I've managed to put on the same amount of muscle and look more brolic than my gym buddy who is about 6'2. We've both been working out for nearly a year and I look more like I've worked out than he does.

10% bodyfat. Put on 24lbs of muscle in 10 months with extensive training (4 hours a day). My gym buddy isn't tall, about 5'10 or, and has not made the gains I have.
