5'5-5'7 guys, how do people react to you in Asia?

People in the 5'5-5'7 range, how do people react to you and treat you in places like China, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam? I would like your point of view. I would imagine that you would be above average in those places right? What is your social, dating and work life over there? If you don't live there, then how do the locals treat you in comparison to natives who are closer to the national average of those places?

I haven't been to Japan or China, but I can say that when I visited Jakarta I definitely felt  tall for once. I met a few women but think that had more to do with me being a foreigner than being a bit above average height there.

Don't you think race would play more of a factor? A 5'5 white guy will stand out more than a 5'7 Asian guy.

@stumpyBump I think race would indeed play a major factor in success with women overseas. It may have to do with what we see on tv and movies with globalization. My friend from high school was in the Marines and would chat about how easy it was for him to clean up. He is 5'5 and originally from the midwest. It wouldn't work so much here in the states. In my neighborhood, most of the average girls would tease a short guy of any race for trying to talk to them unless he was maybe Hispanic like myself.

Are you really hoping that you will be treated like a god when you go to Asia? Jeez! The internet is everywhere. Unless you're 5'11, they'll just think you're short for a white guy. They're Asian, not blind.

I'm not white and picking up women in Tokyo was as easy as pie. I'm sure my height in comparison to the locals had something to do with it. I felt average there.

R2D2 aside from not speaking the language (I assume you didn't speak Japanese) did you find locals to be hostile about you trying to pick up their women?
