Well, the thing is that society sees short men as a collective as "defective", and to a lesser degree, many parents will see their own kids as such (physical failure). Those parents are heavily considering the social stigma their short men will have to face. There's no denying it. It's on TV, in print and now all over social media for the world to see.
Rather than rally to confront society to change this negative and unnecessary social perception, they'd rather "take the easy way out" and double down at the possible expense of their own child who may experience adverse health problems later in life. It's a screwed up gamble on their point. I'm guessing they figure they'd either be dead or in poor health by the the time their child experiences these possible issues, or that it'd be "better" for them to deal with potential health issues than to deal with a constant social stigma in all aspects of their social and work lives.
Women like this are so cringe. Why bother dating the guy in the first place if you knew that's how you were going to feel.
Certainly she had this in her head beforehand.
