this meme is misleading as true confidence is only possible by experiencing success so in the absence of success, confidence is merely delusional.  a man can also be confident in certain area's such as his career, the gym, martial arts & other activities yet have no confidence in others such as dating because he has experienced nothing but failure & rejection from the women he is attracted to.

I don't think it's misleading. There are people who aren't successful in certain areas of their lives, couldn't care less what anyone thinks of them, and are happy with themselves. i would consider that delusional.  nothing wrong with it as long as the man is OK being alone but when he wants to find a romantic partner, what he thinks about himself is meaningless & the only thing which matters is what the women he is attracted to thinks of him.  unless he has the physical genetics to compete in the modern dating market, no mindset, humor or amount of confidence & self esteem is going to help him attract a women.
