I read something that may be helpful for some. Avoiding contrasting colors is said to lengthen your appearance. What you want to aim for is different shades of the same color, using the darker clothing item on the bottom. So pants and shorts should always be darker.

The second guy looks like he is heavier and shorter so I guess this makes sense. I think the first outfit it more put together and profesional as well.

I always wear dark colors when it comes to pants, shorts, and dress wear. I jut always thought it looked best. I had no idea it played a trick on the eyes.

I never gave this much thought but I will start looking at what I am wearing to see if I notice a difference.

I always do the tow tone look when I need to look sharp. I will have dark blue bottoms, with a lighter blue top or black pants with a gray top, you get the idea. I think it looks best on both men and women vs the other way around.

I always wear black pants. I love the look and feel so anything I wear it lighter on top. I also feel like black bottoms make me look taller and leaner.
