Online bullies vs Real life
post #1

Which has been worse for you? I think online bullying has grown over the last 10 years and may be worse in some cases because of social networking. Thoughts?

For teens, yes it is worse online but in the work place, it is in real life where it sucks. That and dating... and dating sites.. ugg

Facebook and the like make online worse for kids, yes but I agree that the real world is harder unless you want to talk about dating sites. Those blow for us short men.

For me it has been both. While I am not on the shorter side, I got picked on a lot for my size, my hair, my hands... Then online, I always got the "Why aren't you as good looking as your brother?"

Real life is worse because you are FORCED to deal with it. If you don't like it online, stay off the site or delete your account. You can't do that in the real world.

This. Kids and teens can avoid the crap though we don't have much of an option in real life so I am saying online is easier.

Kids these days don't even know how good they have it. They can hide behind a computer screen and pick and choose where they want to be and who they talk to. When I was growing up, you have to be outside and make friends or you had no one.

This is true. I must admit I did not think of it like that at first. Great point. You can easily find new places to enjoy online, moving is not always an option in real life.
