Grew an Inch, will i grow more? & socliosis
post #1

Recently, I measured myself and found that I am now 5'6. I was 5'5 when i measured myself last year. I'm 23 years old and I have been diagnosed for very mild scoliosis.

I feel like my very mild scoliosis has been getting worse and if corrected I could get maybe 2 cm. Anyways, i'm just posting because i feel so much better finding out that I am 5'6 and not 5'5.

Anyone else go through something similar?

I know that surgery that corrects it can squeeze a few more inches out of you, but since you're under 25, that growth you had could have just been natural growth. People rarely grow beyond 21 but it isn't unheard of.

Would 2 cm mean that much to you? Isn't that corrective surgery invasive, meaning time off from work?

Yes it would mean a lot but the biggest issue is that unbalanced weight distribution affects how i feel after some physical activities. My fam doc has told me a couple years back that surgery isnt practical for my slight curvature. She also said it wouldnt get worse because i'm not going to grow. (she said that when i was still 5'5 or 165cm. Now im 168).  I'm just hoping i grow to 5'7

5'5 and 5'6 are in the same social category as far as I am concerned. You could possibly grow to 5'7 but it's good to be comfortable with yourself no matter what height you are or end up becoming because you are who you are of course.

This is the case for men but women grow until they are 23. Foot, height, chest, finger sizes all change. I knew a man who grew two inches from 20 to 22 in age. I have known a few women who didn't even get their breasts till in their 20's.

It is rare/uncommon though to grow in height past 20 years of age, no matter what your sex.

Any follow ups on this Eleyelevel? By the way, how did you come up with your username? Just curious.

As for the second part of your question, it was my response when someone asked me to spell my last name. But i added Level to the end of my username
