Has this happened to you? Often? Were you ever humiliated over it? Tell us what happened and how it went down.

Yup all the time, they literally just tell me "you're too short, I can't date you" end of story

Corona times. Signed up on Tinder. Got a match after 2 weeks or so. We chatted for 5 days straight. Now, getting a match itself seemed like an achievement. She's Scandinavian. I'm Indian. But, we seemed to have a connection and she said I was very funny and witty. Sixth day she proposes to meet for 'fika'. Asks me if I like girl in high heels as some men find it intimidating if the girl is near their height or taller. I said you're probably already taller and it's not an issue. She asks how tall? I say 165. And then drops the H-bomb. You seem so much taller in the photos. You'd be so great if only you were 175! We'd look weird together. And I got blocked. smile

If you don't list your height on your profile and in your bio, cool, but you have to get this out earlier in the course of conversation. Maybe after the first or second covnos. Otherwise, you're just wasting your or her time.

If she's not interested, next her or forget her if she ghosts you and move on to the next one. Dating apps are a numbers game and for us shorter guys, we have to have more at-bats to get our numbers on equal footing with our taller counterparts.

I had a pretty detailed bio when I signed up which incl. my height. After getting no matches for a couple of weeks, I figured that even the most unshallow and open minded women will need to have some criteria to filter out the scores of guy profiles and I dropped that bit of info. I don't support hiding or lying about physical attributes. Well, you can never really hide height or weight. But, it just might give you a slim chance where she might consider you for your other important qualities. The matches started when I edited out the height part. The rest of the bio was the same. I understand your point about being practical and not wasting time. But, why should I bring up my height at all as if there's something wrong with me that I need to warn her about. Frankly, after the initial good convos, I hadn't thought about it at all. This point should be brought up by the girl if she deems it a deal breaker.

Many, many times sadly. There was my flatmate at Uni, we got on very well and people use to mistake us for a couple but she was 5' 8" and made it clear she wouldn't date someone shorter than her. There was the woman at tennis who was 5' and when I asked her out she bluntly told me she was only attracted to men over 6'.

The most hilarious was a girl at a house party. She comes into the kitchen and then bluntly tells me I'm too short for her. What made it hilarious was the fact she was wearing 3 inch heel and I could still see clean over the top of her head.
