Heightism
Have you ever saw anyone about your heightism?

I have a co-worker who is about 7 years younger than me. He recently started seeing someone about hsi doubts and depression over his height. I believe he is 20. Anyways, I used to be a little bit hard on myself but I was never depressed. Is this a thing now?

My ex did. He was depressed about his weight, height, job, you name it. I can see how this would help some people but I get why many refuse to talk to someone.

I did when I was younger but it wasn't jsut for my height issues. I was just not a happy teen. Height or not, I don't think it would have made a huge difference.

I think most of us weren't at times. It is part of growing up and understanding who we are.

I haven't no but I have known a few people to see doctors for self esteem issues having to do with weight and height. They came out better from it.

OP, how do I see anyone about "my" heightism. Heightism is a prejudice. Unless you mean if someone holds heightist beliefs. A therapist is not going to take that seriously.

I never have but as Fly^^^ said above, it really isn't a thing against your height to see someone unless you meant is as you believe you yourself being short is unacceptable.

I have been to them, they are usually full of *bleep*. They tell you its a problem with yourself, and not how the rest of society views you, well thats complete bullshit as any short man knows. How long will we all take this for?

Welcome to the forum Ointment! Be proud of your height and set it in your profile so it can be displayed. You are right, the problem is not with you ut society. What you are talking about is Heightism. A Therapist cannot fix heightism the same way a therapist cannot fix racism or any other prejudice.
