Explained beautifully. It's why I don't have female "friends" that I am actively attracted to. No self-respecting man should a maintain a friendship with a woman that they expect "more than a friendship" from IMHO.

I've definitely been in the situation where a woman liked me a lot, but her friends were pressuring her to "do better". Not because of my personality. Not because of my job. Not because of my abilities, but simply because they wanted her to be with someone taller.
