A lot of it has to do with romantic culture (as in romance languages). A man is defined by his character and what he brings to the table. Height is just a bonus. I noticed this with Latinas as well. It's bullshit anglo culture that's obsessed with everything being big. Just look at the language.
Nope but that has more to do with Short Men than it has to do with Heightism itself. Spreading awareness is important but how long has this site been around and its users aren't active here enough?
I think it's a man thing also. Men are called as being whiners or complainers if they don't make the best of their lot in life. Being black affect men and women. Fat men and women. Gay men and women. Notice how women are in the equation. People don't feel sorry for Men, they do for women. Shortness affects men only, so no one cares about our lot. We'd have to speak en masse for any real changes to happen.
I used to find a lot of this growing up. My mother happens to be taller than me. Growing up, if something broke around the house or she needed the answer to something, she would trust my friends more than trusting me to be knowledgeable. It used to frustrate me. Even in the present day with me grown up, I notice that she is more trusting to the assumed knowledge of a taller person than one shorter.
Any of you find stuff like this?
