Twitter users accuse JD Vance of having short guy energy
Maybe they can explain why exactly it is called "Short Guy Energy" if so many "Tall People" have it.... |

Victim of height discrimination in the workplace, but people blame him
Some select tidbits from this Reddit post. It is so bizarre to see people defending this kind of language and behavior in the workplace. Note the comment about "short people not being a protected class" and encouraging shorter guys in particular to just "deal with the bullying and name calling", and more so, implying that this type of hostile behavior should not be called out. Can you imagine how heads in HR would roll if you told someone they had "fat girl syndrome" or "[insert race here] syndrome"? It's as if people want to have a group they can beat up and mock without any repercussions. |

The social consequence of dating a short man as told by a woman
Woman details the attitudes friends and relatives would have toward her dating a man shorter than average height. All things we already know but worth the read. |

Woman talks about why she hates her city so much.
Of all of the reasons why a person could hate where they live. Can you imagine the backlash a man would get if he did a similar video? |

Idiot Tik-Toker andewsvisual says that a short wolverine is "stupid"

This guy sounds about as intelligent as a bag of rocks with a hole in it. What's worse is, look at how so many are quick to crap all over a comic book-accurate character. |

Man asks wife if she would've dated him if he were 5'6.

Brutal. She actually told him she would rather him have one leg than be one inch taller than herself. And men are supposedly more critical of women's bodies. Yeah, okay... |

They're questioning if JD Vance is straight because he's 5'7. What?
Just when you think Lipstick alley can't get anymore vile, they outdo themselves every time. They're really calling him a "pocket bottom" because "he's 5'7". Where do we even begin. These are the same people who will be blowing up the phone of HR if you even said a word that sounds like "colorism". Can't stand the "ladies" on that board. You can find that Lipstick Alley thread here.

Heightism Throwback: DirecTV "Petite Randy Moss".
About 10 years ago, DirecTV put out the above video entitled "Petite Randy Moss". It has been since scrubbed from their website and most of the internet. Basically, it was about convincing people to switch to Direct TV. Randy Moss, the NFL football player was shown wearing a nice modern suit, living in a luxury condo and living the good life, while "Little Randy Moss" was wearing uncomfortable horribly fitted clothing, had a crappy apartment and struggled to get cereal from the top shelf of a supermarket. Only god knows why the short actor who played "Petite Randy Moss" subjected himself to that level of foolery. I remember ShortKingz (ShortGuyCentral back then) did a write up on this, promoted it and the backlash against it grew so big that they cut the commercial. This was about 10 years ago. ShortKingz's predecessor can't take all of the credit, but the negative response spread all the way through social media and made an impact. DIRECTV scrubbed it from the internet (which is why the links to the write up here are broken), but others copied the video and put it on their own pages (link in the first paragraph). Just thought it would be great to share this with all of the negative commentary surrounding the new 5'3 Wolverine scene in the new Deadpool movie. |

Haven't been on this board in ages but saw this and wanted to share. It's lopsided world when his fiancee figured that his height even makes up for this. Not just that, but he gets to go on living a normal life and become a celebrity. |

Heightist scene in Deadpool 3 with Wolverine being 5'3
https://www.reddit.com/r/shortguys/comments/1ecd6ot/53_wolverine_scene_in_deadpool_3/
You kind of get why so many are rebelling against Hollyweird. The irony is that Wolverine is supposed to be 5'3 in the comic books. |

Height shaming isn't acknowledged by the greater society
The guy pictured here is Dynzell Sigers, a seemingly nice guy. Most of you know him by now. What makes him stand out is how open he was about his successful leg lengthening procedure. A former short king, he now stands at 6ft even. Quite striking when you consider his starting height was 5'5. You'd have to ask, what would make a man go this far? I'm not here to talk bad about the man. He says he was confident and comfortable with himself, but he knew what many of us know or take too long to figure out. If you look at the comments under his video where he always commits to full transparency, you will see comments like, "He's insecure", "why wouldn't he accept himself" and "all of this for what?". The people who say these things always forget to address, "where does that insecurity come from?". To be clear, Dynzell says he wasn't insecure and I believe him. There are so many stigmas that people acknowledge today, Depression, body dysmorphia, gender identity, weight, but very few acknowledge heightism, even those who claim to be the most progressive. Shaming men isn't considered forbidden, but actually encouraged. Kudos to Dynzell for concluding that he didn't want to fight this fight, he wanted to rid himself of the stigma once and for all and just live a normal life. Now, I personally wouldn't do leg lengthening, but I get it. I get it. |
