I think it is a bit of both. She wanted someone taller only because her friends rejected the idea of her being with someone shorter so she put her feelings aside because she wanted to be liked by people. It is sad but a lot of people do this, both men and women.

^ I believe you are right.

Either way, saying we need to find a promise land else where is giving up. No one is going to force me to live somewhere else because they can't stomach the fact that some attractive and successful men aren't 6'.
