Stupid guy thinks this is a "comeback" to being turned down
This "comeback" is being upvoted on several sites. Can someone explain why this garmin behavior is considered "the high road". Name any other instance where insulting one's self because of a physical characteristic would get pats on the back? |

"Move outta the way midget!"
I'm currently rotating at my hospital as I work through my residency. The title of this post are the exact words which came out of the mouth of a nurse on the floor I was working on. My first instinct when coming up with a comeback is to size the person up and determine which standout feature of theirs it worthy of a mean spirited joke. The thing was, the nurse was black, dark skinned black. I wanted to jab back hard on her dark complexion but realized that would put me in a lot of hot water with HR. In theory though, the methodology is the same. See something on them that society says is bad and poke fun at it. I instead responded with "Ha-Ha Funny". She replied "Don't get all Short Man Syndrome on me". I can't stand that being short is license for people to say anything to you without consequence. |

Anyone have a younger but taller sibling?
Any of you have a younger sibling that is taller? My younger brother is 6'1 and a few years younger than me. However, when him and I get into heated discussions about any topic, he always "wins". There is something in me that holds back. I don't know if it's because I don't feel masculine enough or if it is some type of anxiety, but I didn't feel this way before his growth spurt. Anyone else ever feel similarly? |

Reminded about my height when my tall friends get women without effort
Went out with my 6'2 friend last night to a club over here in New Jersey. My friend is an introvert, and not particularly attractive in the face. He doesn't workout and has a small gut which is visible when he wears shirts. He is an underachiever in every sense of the word. Last night, he was able to pick up a woman at the club within 25 minutes and fuck her inside of his car. A beat up Honda Civic which has a smelly interior. Another of my friends is 6'0. He has a plain looking face and works in Retail. Not a manager or even a Customer Sales rep. He works as a stock boy. He has women smiling at him wherever he goes. It's to the point that if a woman doesn't pay him any attention, he gets pissy about it. If I am with him, women come up to us and ask for directions. They have their eyes all over him and completely ignore me. I don't want to come off as a hater. I don't have that much trouble dating, especially since I started working out, but it is a strong reminder that my tall friends will never understand the effort that I have to put in just to get noticed. |

Who perpetuates heightism more? Men or women?
In my experience, it's been women. Most of the comments about my height from my male peers have been in jest, like reaching something on a shelf or doubts about my abilities in sports (then praise when I win at something). From women, it's either been everything from ostracizing to comments about how I am not a real man or even outright rude comments in the workplace. What is your opinion? |

Women getting all livd about that new makeup removal app.
There is a new app that removes makeup and filters from pictures. Women are really really upset, pissed and angry about it calling it "sexist". Comments from the Google Play listing:
"Innapropriate and offensive. To all the misogynistic people praising the app: most men wouldn't go out with a woman if she doesn't have make up on, so stop complaining about women "lying about their beauty". Many of the "natural" looks men find attractive still use a lot of makeup to get there, they just use more neutral colours and simple shapes. If I want to wear makeup that is my decision and I do it for me, not you."
".. it’s clear he had time to do this because he’s a single douchebag who will end up forever alone.let’s see an app that shows women what men’s penises look like while they’re just chillin on the couch."

Why is everything a short guy does considered overcompensating?
This is crazy. If I buy a nice car, I'm "overcompensating". If I go to the gym, I'm "overcompensating". What can we do that isn't seen as overcompensating. The whole idea of overcompensating is sad. |

No correlation between a team's height and results
This BBC study is a big one boys, but I wonder if this will promote the idea that society is in general heightist in sports and the professional world overall. This is study done about Football. Could this be extended to all sports? Jose Altuve is the best batter in Baseball at just 5'6. Shouldn't that be telling? |
