5'1 woman rants about her love of dad bods, but there's a catch
This stuff is so fascinating. If this "belly" were on a 5'5 guy, she'd probably gag. |

Leg Lengthening is getting better and more inexpensive
I've been following leg lengthening for some time now. From watching doctors explain how it works on YouTube, testimonials and Vlogs from people who actually had the procedure done, to dedicated leg lengthening forums where people do everything from plan their lives around the procedure to to lurkers who are on the fence about getting it. One thing is clear though, the price of the surgery has plummeted internationally from where it was ten years ago and the operations are becoming more frequent. This could mean that if international relations stabilize, the technology used to achieve safe LL will continue to enter the market and prices will continue to fall. In the beginning, it could only be achieved with external fixators. Then Precise was introduced, and now there is Precise 2.0. There was a video that I watched of a young Indian man getting the procedure in New York and spending $200K. Now in many places, you can have this done for $75K-$100K. In some parts of Europe, you can get this done for $50K. I am not advocating that anyone who is interested in this surgery gets it on the cheap, that would be a fool's game. With that though, the next generation of people who are interested in Leg Lengthening will have it much easier. Who knows what tech will be introduced in the short term. Maybe doctors will even get to a point where they can reopen the growth plates. All in all, it means that shorter guys who are really struggling out there, or men who are not happy with their height will have a bit more leverage if they have the money. |

Richard Simmons passed away yesterday at 76. He was 5'6.
If you were a kid in the 80s and 90s, regardless of your politics or religion, this guy used to go on all of the talk shows and made people laugh with his personality and energy. He also made it his business and mission to get people who struggled with their weight into shape. He used to get bullied (in a playful way) but some talk show hosts (Letterman), but he always took it in stride and had a great relationship with those he interacted with. |

Tall men can get away with being out of shape and still be a catch
Let's talk about it. There is this guy at my job, he's a supervisor. He's 6'2 and eats like a damn slob. Every day, this guy scarfs down two whole pizza boxes and drinks two bottles of diet coke and wash it off. The guy looks pregnant. He wears a t-shirt and wrinkled jeans. Anyway, with all of that, he is banging one of the cashiers. He sometimes brings her to the office in the morning to get a quickie in. Oh, and by the way, he's cheating on his wife of two years. He is in his late 30s, the cashier is 22 and smoking hot. Now I'm not salty that he's with the cashier, but want to point out that for a short guy to be considered attractive, he has to be in shape, no exceptions. You have all of these women saying they love "dad bods". I don't necessarily believe that because I see even overweight women clown fat guys. But if you're a tall guy, you will get way more leeway and can still be considered a catch even if you let yourself go. You can't be a Jonah Hill or DJ Academics type. If you were, it would be clear that they are there strictly for the dinero. |

Short guys who get told they're handsome, is dating any better?
What are your biggest challenges and biggest wins? Is your experience dating different from shorter men who seem to have more negative interactions with women? In other words, does your facial attractiveness and or physique mitigate height bias? On the other end, are any of you withdrawn from the dating market and tired of it due to negative experiences? Finally, when you other guys see you winning, do they get jealous and try to drag you down? |

Austin Dunham asks about height, doesn't get the answer he wanted.

I can't stand interviews like this because the interviewer (usually average or tall) is looking for a particular answer to boost his own ego. I like the fact that the woman stood ten toes down on her not caring much about height (her boyfriend is 5'4) and that the boyfriend looked un-phased. |

Attractiveness By Race. Is Perceived Height A Factor?
Data from a study conducted by Ok Cupid in 2014, revisited from 2009. You can see that white women are rated highest by all men (slight negative expression from Black Men). Black women take the back seat from all men (the least negative expression is from Black Men, though it's still in the negative). From all women, white men are preferred by far with the exception of black women. Black women give a slight nod to Asian men. White women prefer their own with Latinos getting some grace. I would bet that is because there are many white passing Latinos. Some conjecture online from Asian men is that they believe that their perceived lack of height (older stereotype) might be the culprit, but it wouldn't explain why Black men are rated lower when they don't hold that same stereotype. Here is an example of this conjecture on a reddit post. I would be great to see a 2024 update, especially with all of the political shake-ups which have taken place since then which might have an effect on opinions and perceptions. You can find an overview of the data in this OkCupid article here. |

Short cop bullied relentlessly at protest
Ironically, this is at a protest for Discrimination. Go figure. The video is from a Tik-Tok account that no longer exists, so it's now floating around online.

Women react to the physique of 5'5 Mr. Olympia competitor Ruff Diesel
Self-Improvement will always give better results than staying where you are. This guy is what a lot of ladies would call "average-looking", but his dedication to his physique and success gives him a major edge. I absolutely believe that most of these reactions are genuine. |

Height Preferences In Humans May Not Be Universal
2012 study suggests that height preferences in humans may not be universal due to cultures where extreme sexual dimorphism in stature is preferred. You can read the full study from Elsevier via PubMed here. |

That time a Nick Jonas fan asked for a photo and then roasted him
It was great to see Nick Jonas clap back. It definitely was incredibly rude to ask for a photo just to insult him right afterwards. |
