What were the worst experiences you've had due to your height?
Just curious. Which events in your life stand out the most? |

Short men who are/have been married, how did you meet your wife?
I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. While it is tough for some of us to date because women almost universally find shortness unattractive, I do know many short men who've hitched. I work with many short men who have been married for years. Sadly, I know many who have divorced, with their wives lamenting at their height on their way out. How did you meet your wives? Were they okay with your height from the beginning? |

"I'm not 6'3. I put that on my profile to keep short guys away"
Women lie on their dating profiles all the time. We lie on our profiles to be seen. They lie on their profiles to filter undesirables out. |

Martial Artists! Difference fighting people larger/smaller than you?
How do you have to adjust yourself in fighting larger or smaller opponents? I want to get into Tae Kwan Do and have asked but those who I've asked act oblivious to height as if it doesn't matter. I can't imagine it does. |

Me VS Society - My Darkside [WARNING: Wall of text]
Oh boy. This is gonna be a long one.
When i was a kid i was the cutest thing, lille brown fellow with a loveable smile, raised well with a helpfull and a caretaking heart, i had tons of friends and every other kid and adult loved me.
This time i did everything i could to be one of the cool guys, cause i noticed they were the one getting all the good ladies, and everyone else had a crush on them.
When i completed boarding school, i started technical school where i met a common friend, who was in the underworld that i wanted to be, one of the tough guys. I quickly became friends with him, and i started doing some bad stuff, thefts, fighting and other small time crimes.
Around a year later my friends made a mean and funny but succesful party-trick in the drunken-nightlife. They would walk up to a girl in a club, saying that they were from a magazine and they were trying to find the clubs best kisser, all they have to do, was to kiss the guy standing over there (who of course was another one of our friends) That night, they said, that they kissed at least 10 girls each.
At the time, it have been 3½ years since i last slept with a girl, and havnt kissed anyone for a long time. The next day they wanted to try the same trick but only with me in focus.
Desperate i signed up for a tinder profile, which backfired, as i wrote my height and only got the worst of the worst tinder matches, and those who actually had soemthing nice about them, rejected me, saying my height was a problem.
4 years after my last erotic night, me and my friends took a trip to Germany where i slept with a prostitude which i to this day regret.
I was so far down at the time, i was so depressed, every time i got into my car, i thought if i shouldnt just drive down the hill into the house at the bottom of the road just to punish myself for being such a failure at life. About 5 years after the last real female attention, i thought to myself that i would give it one last try to get a girl, or i would go comepletely down and do only god knows what to myself, since im very selfcritic. Luckely i found an unattractive girl to be with. She was young, but super controversial from everyone else. And i was so nervous when i saw her, i was 23 have slept with 3 girls 5 years ago and i've never had a girlfriend.
Today im just hunting for new fat single slutty mothers with anxiety, depression and other life issues to bed.
Im just sick of being judged by my brown looks and height. As everyone else i have my issues but im actually one of the good guys. |

"I don't mind dating short guys, but my current boyfriend is 6'4"
When in conversations with women and the subject of height comes up, this response gets thrown around a lot. It's like a crazy cognitive dissonance. I don't understand why women do this. Is this to make them feel better about themselves for supposedly not being shallow, or to let people know that they are one of the "good ones" by agreeing with other women who make this claim? How are short guys in these conversations supposed to feel better about themselves when even the women who supposedly are okay with short guys still end up with tall guys and these women have to "make it known"? |

Woman leaves husband of 18 years following weight loss surgery
And guess why? Because he's too short. My opinion is she couldn't do better as a fat tub of lard, so post op after getting attention from more attractive guys, she bailed. What a bitch! |

Isn't absurd when people compare overweight women with short men?
Hi
I often see people comparing short men with overweight women. Even short men compare their struggles with overweight women's struggles... but I find such comparison very absurd... I mean, nobody chooses his/her height... being disliked because of your height is as absurd as being disliked as a result of your nose shape... however, when it comes to weight, we are talking about something that most people can change by exercising and eating right... Additionally, taking care of your weight is very important! being anorexic or overweight is not good for a person's health. Your thoughts?

Anyone resent women a bit after learning how much they value height?
When I was younger, I used to have a much more positive attitude about women and even identified a bit as a feminist, but that changed when I learned how many (most of them) see me and will always see me. Now I'm skeptical when dealing with women romantically on the rare occasion when I get a chance. It seems like no one is "fine" with my height but always makes excuses. He's short but is a great guy etc etc. |

What being a Short Man REALLY Means
As you can probably tell, I am a 5’1 adult male living in a world of criticism and insolence. All this seems terrible; correct? Well, actually no because I stand strong and I survive the attacks aimed at me. To elaborate on this, I will explain my optimistic concept. Call it what you will: acts of a syndrome, a silly idea, what have you. I will attempt to speak my honest words.
Being a shorter male, I am sometimes laughed, disregarded, rejected, or betrayed, etc. Witnessing these things really impacted me immensely. I dwelled on these things then the epiphany hit me. It explicates that being a shorter male is a blessing. Why? Because it grants him resilience, determination, and understanding. This is a situation that involves “Every setback is an opportunity for a comeback.” This was stated by Pastor Osteen. That is what being a short man means: Never giving up and appreciating the situation, no matter what it is.
Always know that various important figures throughout time were short males. There was the lawyer and leader, Mahatma Gandhi; the great entrepreneur, Andrew Carnegie; along with the passionate adventurer, Captain John Smith, the list goes on. It is even said that Jesus of Nazareth was short! I also need to include another leader, Martin Luther King Jr. All these individuals that I have enumerated followed the optimistic notion.
Also, this is for those of you who are open to faith. As a Christian, just know that God watches over you. I have studied different faiths and philosophies, and I believe that God in the Christian context is the complex being of justice and righteousness. This being always supports the “underdog,” of which could be the shorter man.
Let me end off by saying: never give up and love yourself. If someone tries putting you down, turn the left cheek and walk away, just as what Jesus of Nazareth did!
Heck, just earlier today at university, someone spat a piece of gum on my favorite sweater today; I don’t know if this was an accident or on purpose! But you want to know what I did? I went to the restroom, washed it off, and went through the day smoothly!
To all: have a blessed day! |

What People Need to Realize about Feminism, Heightism and Short Men
So a lot of you seem perplexed about the whole ideal of Feminism and shorter men. I am hearing many questions that go: "If feminism is for the empowered woman, why does she need a taller man?" or "How does heightism affect woman?" I'm going to shed light on these issues. Feminism nowadays is striving for MORE ADVANTAGES for the woman. Feminism does NOT help the shorter men; in fact, it's more harmful. Why? Because it empowers the woman to do whatever she wants, and that is to go for TALLER men. Feminism is harmful for the shorter man.
Heightism affects woman in a POSITIVE way. In fact, I'd argue that heightism is being accentuated by woman RATHER than men. When a woman receives "amicable" acts of heightism towards her, such as a pat on the head or treated like a child, please keep in mind she likes it. A lot of woman nowadays follow this ideal of being cute and feminine.
All in all, the institutionalized, contemporary feminism and heightism affects the woman POSITIVELY and the shorter men NEGATIVELY. |

Why do women mock short men?
With all of the global women's movements toward equality - women's suffrage, feminism, calling out pay disparities, body acceptance, why then do women turn around and mock men who don't meet their or society's standards? Isn't it bizarre? Like I could go out and make fun of fat women and then be chastised for it, but then they could mock short men at work or in social settings and be cheered on for it. Why of all people would women engage in or encourage this behavior? |
